Cardinals beat Falcons!
January 4, 2009
Coming into this game, everyone thought that the Falcons were going to have a blowout win against the Cardinals. It didn’t really seem to come out that way as that rookie Matt Ryan threw two interceptions, got a safety, and fumbled on a hand off.
On the other hand, Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner looked pretty good. He completed 19-32 passes, and threw for 271 yards and 2 touchdowns. To open the game, Kurt Warner conected a 42 yard touchdown pass to Larry Fitzergerald. He also connected with Anquan Boldin for a 71 yard pass, that led to a score. The Cardinals played like they were a new team. They worked together and got the job the done.
After all, the Falcons didn’t do to great, rookie quarterback Matt Ryan didn’t do as well as they thought he would. He threw two interceptions, and got a safety. I personally do not think that the safety was that right call. He was in the end zone, and the defensive linemen were trying to tackle him. After a few second, he got the ball off to the running back, which would have been a big game. While he was running, the referees blew the whistle. Everybody was surprised, and no one thought it was a safety.
So, now the Cardinals will go onto the second round of the playoffs, while the Falcons are getting ready for offseason!
