Brett Favre Traded
August 7, 2008
Announced late last night, Brett Favre has officially been traded to the J-E-T-S , jets, jets jets! This long and drawn out saga with the green Bay Packers is finally over (we hope). The NFL still has to approve the trade, and Brett has to decide if he wants to go. The bottom line is that either he goes, or he retires.
The Last couple of months has been pretty nasty between the Packer and Brett, Brett has left the Packers and their fans scratching their heads over the last three years wondering if he was coming back or not. He officially retired after the end of last season after taking the Packer to the NFC championship game. Then, a month before spring training was set to begin, Brett decided he wasn;t done yet and filed for reinstatment with the NFL.
Lost in all this is the best backup quarterback in the league, Arron Ridgers who has patiently waited for the ledged that is Brett Favre to retire so he could take over the tea. Rodgers has remained quite throughout this ordeal, which, is probably the best move he could make.
Looking to the future, Green Bay is set to have a nice Roster this year and hopefully make another run towards the Super Bowl. they have a good wide reciver core, soild run game, and a better than average defense. The only question is will Arron Rodger live up to the ledgendary Favre.
The New York Jets, witht he addition of a real quarterback has just become a player in their division. Last year they had rotating QB’s and that proved to be a nasty mistake and their 4-12 record showed that. We will have to wait and see if Brett can turn that team around and make some noise.
